The Wysdon Tales

the crown of wysdon

#1 AMAZON BEST SELLER 1-2-24

In the tranquil Land of Wysdon, a magician of immense power seizes the great king’s hill. Around it, he builds an astonishing city of magic and palaces and water slides, drawing elves and wizards to help by promising that all who join him will become greater than ever they were. True. But unsaid was that their lives would be cut short, and every succeeding generation would grow more pitiful than the one before, until all their magical gifts were gone. Outside the city, Cattar promised to dry up the swamps. After ten generations, the lakes and rivers were gone, too.
In the desert, a few cling to a nomadic existence, steadfastly loyal to the great king. Others fled to the Western Mountains, where a handful of mighty wizards hold the line, protecting remnant communities of centaurs and unicorns, elves and giants, dwarves and Chitterings against Cattar’s evil army. Legends promise that four children will come, born of a whirlwind to land in a sea that never was, and after them, Amarus, son of the great king, will return to restore the land. First, though, the four children must defeat Cattar, by Amarus’ sword and with the crown of Wysdon.

The problem is: the sword is lost. The crown hasn’t been seen for two thousand years, and neither has Amarus. Without them, there is no hope.

When four children on vacation from Massachusetts splash down, things only get worse. One of them is lured to Cattar’s city. All who go to Cattar remain his forever. Another has no wish to fight. The youngest, Jack, only wants to laugh and play. Ellie, the oldest, sees Amarus, but heads the other way.
